Purple Rain draws inspiration from the audacious, gender-fluid, flamboyant aesthetic of 1970s Glam Rock and pays homage to Prince's cultural impact, particularly the iconic love ballad of the same name. The fragrance is built around dark aged patchouli oil as its central ingredient, intertwined with the androgynous softness of crème de violette, rose, and violet combined with a delicate powdery lipstick accord. Deeper shadows unfold through cocoa absolute and supple suede, while accents of smoke and liqueur create romantic darkness, evoking themes of tenderness and parting in love.
