"After I had meandered through the old alleyways of the historic centre, I was led by the sound of medieval music to Piazza Grande, where the Arezzo antiques fair was in full swing. There was a smell of wood in the air – a dry, intense and mysterious scent. As I walked around, I spotted an old metal box at one of the stalls. The box was closed, but when I opened it, a sharp scent of spices hit my nostrils. I closed my eyes, bewitched, as if I were listening to a story of journeys to distant lands. I was wrapped in a cloud of aromas both provocative and sensual. That experience was so unusual and fantastic, that it ignited in me the desire to create a new fragrance, which I called Speziato Nero."
