French Cancan by Caron is a Floral fragrance for women. French Cancan was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Ernest Daltroff. Top notes are Jasmine and Violet; middle notes are Orange Blossom and May Rose; base notes are Ambergris and Sandalwood. Maison Caron, founded in 1904 by Ernest Daltroff, reissues all its emblematic perfumes (formerly available in the Fontaines collection) in the new line La Collection Privée, coming out in 2018 in an art-deco bottles. "In the mid-30s, when musicals were all the rage on New York’s Broadway, Ernest Daltroff created a new fragrance for the United States. Against a backdrop of sandalwood, French Cancan translated the frenzied dance for which the French cabarets across the pond were so well known for into a bouquet of flowers composed of jasmine and orange blossom. The symbol of a time when the cabaret divas of the Moulin Rouge were stealing the limelight from the beautiful elegant women of the Champs-Elysées, French Cancan evokes a certain liberation in customs that echoes the end of prohibition in the United States."
