Legend has it that King Nebuchadnezzar II built these gardens as a gift for his queen, Amytis, who came from Persia and found the Mesopotamian plain too monotonous and treeless. To please her, the king decided to create a hanging garden, a veritable oasis suspended between heaven and earth. The Gardens of Babylon consisted of a series of overlapping terraces, connected by stairs and a complex network of canals and irrigation pipes. When Emilia Chinigó asked me to cooperate to this new project by Anima Mundi, I could only immerse myself in this journey with her. So, closing my eyes and accompanying Amytis to the gardens of Babylon, it was like finding myself at the court of Nebuchadnezzar, among sunny terraces, luxuriant with baskets of flowers… walking sheltered among wet and sap-rich fruit trees… staying in the water pools and immerse my face in the petals of exotic flowers...An instant of this paradiseon the skin: Amytis is a fine line between afnity and sensuality. “ -Michele Marin
