Chypre Noir by American Perfumer, created by Manuel Cross and released in 2023, is a dark interpretation of the chypre theme with a strong leather accent. The fragrance combines a classic chypre structure with pronounced green, herbal, and floral elements, built around a black leather note that extends from the opening through to the drydown. Bitter green facets and tuberose are used as key supporting tones, while musk ketone, oakmoss, and costus add a vintage nuance in the base.
